The pandemic was over. Shelter-in-home was lifted. We were free. My parents, whom I hadn't seen in months, made the long drive down to where I live, and we went to my favorite coffee shop. It was swamped with locals, coming out of their homes, excited to be alive and experiencing life. I ran into my favorite professor and got to meet his whole family. We were so excited to see one another, that our families went out for dinner together. Before the dinner, I went outside to plant trees with my parents. After the dinner, I went to a big party with all of my friends. It was so full. Everyone was so happy. We drank and danced and laughed all night long.
