Inconvenience

I was sitting in a doctor's waiting room with several other people. I noticed someone coughing/wheezing in a row of chairs in front of me. I realized that everywhere I go that asks if I've been in close proximity to someone with Covid symptoms, I'll now have to tell them yes and deal with the consequences of that honesty. It felt like an inconvenience—the long way around what I needed to get done; a pain in the ass. But it didn't cross my mind to try to lie about it.
